February 22, 2009 Sunday Recap Six

It snowed last night--we had about a half an inch on the ground this morning. This is part of our backyard.
When we went out to the car to go to church yesterday, we noticed that Mike's tire was flat.

I took a picture of the snow as it fell last night--I liked how this one only showed the snow with nothing in the background.
While visiting a friend in the hospital yesterday afternoon, I noticed that the rain (which later turned to snow) was creating steam as it fell on these lights on the outside of the hospital.
I looked up on Friday morning and saw that several planes had been playing tic tac toe in the sky.
This is an interesting house down the road (about 10 miles) from home. I have always liked the look of it.

For Eldon

In looking over my pictures this week, I found I had many sky/cloud pictures. I love to take pictures of clouds--I am in awe of the never ending variety of shapes, colors, and patterns.
Monday was a beautiful day with big, puffy, white clouds.
Wednesday, the weather was stormy with a very interesting array of cloud formations and colors.
More of Wednesday's stormy clouds.
This is Wednesday, also.
Friday was another beautiful day. These clouds were lined up like plowed furrows.

I liked the way the darker grey clouds wrapped around an oval of blue sky today.

February 7, 2009 Sunday Recap Six

This weekend was our Pathfinder Sabbath and Lock-in. We "camped out" in the gym on Friday and Saturday night. The Pathfinders had the church service on Saturday morning.
After lunch, we went on a hike through the woods. This large tree had fallen across the path.
Saturday evening, the Pathfinders worked on their marching and drilling.
Pin trading is a big thing--the Pathfinders enjoy trading hat pins with each other. They are getting ready for the big International Camporee in August where Pathfinders from all over the world will be there--and pin trading will happen in a really big way.
The Pathfinders worked on the Model Rocketry Honor--each one built a model rocket.
Then, Sunday morning, the rockets were fired. Eight rockets were recovered, four disappeard into the distance never to be found

February 1, 2009 Sunday Recap Six

We had an ice storm on Monday. These are some red berries encapsulated in ice.

The sky on Tuesday.
The trees on Wednesday morning had little frozen droplets of ice on each branch.
This driftwood tree along Barren River Lake looked like a big bug to me.

The sunset last night at Barren River Lake.

Our dog, Snoopy, this afternoon down by our pond.
